Felt art see - The Evolution

Today I tell you, at times in detail by a difficult birth: As you can imagine, is the evolution of a difficult thing especially if several gods are involved. We have just seen in the chicken house. Both the goddesses, and the felt had a lot to go through.

How plastic ideas and forms from a flat felt pads grow out? And grow is meant quite literally, because we wanted our design language, which we always as a suggestion, Interpretation or transformation of natural forms to the abstract understanding, necessarily retained. Well, that our hobbies include sewing, because some of the tricks we have good starts.

After the idea was finished, several sketches, and many small patterns, went there in search of material. Beads, we did not need that, we have a great stock. Felt and sewing needles were needed.

purchase of material actually makes a lot of fun, but this time it was an ordeal. Once the felt: in pure wool it should be natural, and pretty solid, so that the forms remain stable and many colors we wanted, therefore, use small plates. After some testing, we have opened a terrific spring, but we already noted, with normal sewing needles we do not get stuck.

you probably only slightly by hand. After several attempts (including quite stung wings and finger tips, what to change to the hand sewing without a thimble not is, like, but we this callous things not easy.) And diligent use of conventional needles that break, unfortunately, again and again because it did not appear to possible, they harden as it had done previously, we had almost given up. Beads needles are also not unbreakable (doppelautsch!) and much too pliable, Quilt Erna punching are too short, and too flexible for applications. But then my mother came with a flourish of old needles, a blessing :-).

Felt art from the chicken house. Why Felt art? It's simple: we wanted to offer our creations as Filzschmuck, but friends, presents and customers tell us repeatedly that our jewelry is not really a jewelry, but art to wear. Or hang for collecting and the wall. (Komt too!) But see for yourself, here are some examples that show the beautiful, what we see as our Felt art.
